West Indies ‘A’ Win T20 Series With One Match To Spare

Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – West Indies ‘A’ have won the five-match T20 series against Nepal with one match left to play. The travelling side, after losing the first match, made it three successive wins to win the series 3-1.

The Caribbean side defeated Nepal by 26 runs in the fourth T20 on Thursday. Nepal, chasing 210 runs, were bundled over for 181 runs in the final delivery of the innings. Skipper Rohit Paudel made a 47-ball 82 with seven fours and five sixes to his name. 19 runs scored by Sundeep Jora, Dipendra Singh Airee and Gulshan Jha was the second-highest score by a Nepali batter on the day. Abinash Bohora, with his eight-ball flurry of 18 runs, remained unbeaten.

Hayden Walsh and Matthew Forde took three Nepali wickets while Fabian Allen and Gudakesh Motie took two wickets each.

Earlier, winning the toss and batting first in Kirtipur, West Indies ‘A’ posted a total of 209 runs at the loss of just three wickets. Andre Fletcher scored a 54-nall 84 with nine fours and four maximums in his innings. Similarly. Johnson Charles made yet another half century to get to 58 in 30 deliveries. Fabian Allen remained unbeaten on 33 off 19.

Kushal Bhurtel bowled economically to take two wickets in the match while Pratis GC took one scalp.

The final match of the series will be played on Saturday. The team will fly to the West Indies right after the final match of the series for the ICC T20 World Cup next month.
