Shuttler Maharjan ranks seventh in world junior women’s singles category

Kathmandu – National women’s champion shuttler Rashila Maharjan has been ranked seventh in the junior women’s singles world ranking published by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

Maharjan climbed to the seventh spot from 19th position to become the first Nepali woman to achieve such feat.

Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, Nepal Badminton Association confirmed the ranking. The association said that Maharjan’s achievement has made the entire nation proud.

“Nepal Badminton Association wishes her to achieve much more in the coming days,” reads the statement.

The association expressed happiness that Nepali badminton players have been able to scale new heights one after another.

Another emerging player of Nepal, Prince Dahal, has managed to rise to the number one ranking in the men’s junior singles category of the world ranking published recently by the BWF.
