Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – The Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) is set to organize the 20th edition of the NSJF Pulsar Sports Awards 2079 later this month on the 26th of January.
The announcement was made during a press conference at the Royal Singi Hotel in Kathmandu on Sunday. The main sponsor for the award, Hansraj Hulaschand & Company Pvt Ltd, was confirmed through an agreement-signing program.
At the signing ceremony, Abhimanyu Golcha, the executive director of Hansraj Hulaschand & Company Pvt Ltd, and Durganath Subedi, the president of the forum, officially signed the agreement. Bajaj Pulsar Motorcycles, a product of Hansraj Hulaschand & Company Pvt Ltd, continues as the primary sponsor for the 15th consecutive year.
Executive Director Golcha expressed pride in the long-standing partnership, emphasizing the private sector’s crucial role in sports development. He stated, “This sponsorship is now our moral obligation. This award has become synonymous with the Pulsar brand.”
While the venue for the award program is yet to be decided, General Secretary Prajwal Oli disclosed that the 20th edition of the Pulsar Sports Award will feature a modified format. The event will continue to recognize outstanding contributions in nine categories, including Best Male Player of the Year, Best Female Player of the Year, Best Youth Player of the Year, Best Coach of the Year, People’s Choice Award, Para Athlete Award, Special Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Asian Sports Journalist Award.
Nominations for these categories will be announced in the upcoming event, with the platform’s player selection committee currently working on the selection process. The winners of Sportsman of the Year (Male and Female), People’s Choice, Best Coach, and Best Youth Player will receive a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle, while other category winners will be awarded a gift hamper along with Rs 50,000. The organizing committee is chaired by Subedi himself.
