Kathmandu – Nepal Super League side club Sporting Ilam de Mechi FC’s CEO Piyush Bahadur Neupane has completed the second edition of the FIFA Diploma in Club Management. This accomplishment not only marks his success but also establishes him as the first FIFA Certified Club Manager in South Asia.
The graduation ceremony in Zurich on May 30th, 2024, saw FIFA President Gianni Infantino presenting Neupane with his well-deserved certificate. Neupane’s journey through the course was shared with notable football figures such as John Terry, Juan Mata, Fernandinho, and Tim Cahill.
Reflecting on his achievement, Neupane expressed gratitude for the support received throughout the rigorous 21-month program. “After 21 months of hard work, the crowning moment has arrived. It feels surreal, yet I am proud to be the first FIFA Certified Club Manager from South Asia,” Neupane stated at the ceremony. “Now, it’s time to return to my homeland, and it will be an honor to contribute to the development of Nepali football,” Neupane added. He went on saying “I want to thank everyone who supported me throughout this journey. This achievement is for all of you.”
The FIFA Diploma in Club Management equips participants with comprehensive knowledge and insights across various facets of football club management. From operations to finance, marketing to governance, the course covers essential areas for effective club leadership and development.
