Kathmandu (Hamro Khlekud) – Nepal Men’s Cricket Team is set to prepare for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup with a T20 series against two state teams from India.
As per the schedule released by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Monday, the triangular T20 series will feature teams from Baroda and the Gujarat Cricket Association alongside Nepal’s National Team. The series is set to take place from March 31 to April 7.
CAN cricket manager Binod Das confirmed that it will be Nepal’s Senior National Cricket Team will participate in the series, using it as preparation for the T20 World Cup. In addition to that, the series will serve as a preparation for the ACC Premier Cup scheduled that will be held in Oman in T20 format from April 10.
Ahead of this, Nepal’s Senior Team will be engaged in a series against the Netherlands and Namibia from February 27 to March 5 at the TU International Cricket Ground. Subsequently, the team will travel to Hong Kong. Following a quadrangular there, Nepal will head to India for the aforementioned series.
The T20 World Cup will commence on June 1 in the USA and West Indies, with Nepal placed in Group D alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands.
