Kathmandu – Nepal is all set to participate in the World Fencing Championship which is currently underway in Cairo, Egypt. Nepal Fencing Association informed that an 11-member fencing team including eight players will head towards Egypt on Wednesday to participate in the event.
The association informed that the world championship started last Saturday and will conclude on July 19.
Altogether five male players and 3 female will represent Nepal during the championship. The Nepali players competing in the event in men’s section include Paras Yonjan, Dinesh Bahadur Pandey, Rajendra Gajurel, Sukiram Tamang and Bhishma Raj Dahal.
Likewise, the players representing Nepal in the women’s section include Anita Karki, Januka Syangten and Usha Khadka.
Paras, Dinesh and Rajendra will compete in the sabre event while the remaining players will compete in epee event. All the players will compete in individual and team events. Paras Yonjan left for Egypt on Tuesday to attend a special training session.
