Nepal Police Defends Lamachaur Cup Volleyball Tournament Title

Pokhara – Nepal Police Club defended the Lamachaur Cup Volleyball Tournament title outplaying Chandargiri New Diamond Youth Sports Academy.

Police recorded a 3-1 victory over the New Diamond to be crowned champions in the women’s section on Monday at the Indra Rajya Laxmi Secondary School Volleyball Court.

The opening set saw New Diamond taking an early lead, clinching a 25-18 victory. However, the Nepal Police strongly returned in the subsequent three sets. They bagged the next three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-14, and 25-20, ultimately sealing their championship win.

With the victory, Nepal Police received a prize of NRs. 1,50,000, while the runners-up, New Diamond, were rewarded with NRs. 1,00,000.

Meanwhile, in the men’s section, the home team, Gandaki Province, and the Departmental side, Nepal Police Club, competed for the title. In a closely contested final match on Monday, where both teams won a set each, the organizers had to halt the game due to low visibility conditions. The men’s section final is now rescheduled to take place on Tuesday.

This volleyball tournament, organized by the Navadarsa Community Development Society, featured a total of four women’s teams and five men’s teams. The tournament commenced on Friday.
