By a Staff Reporter – Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) has bid farewell to marathonist Gopi Chandra Parki as he prepares to fly to London for the prestigious London Marathon.
NOC President Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha extended his wishes to Gopichandra Parki for the London Marathon. This opportunity was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Nepal Run UK and the organizers of the Dhara Nepalgunj Marathon.
Further support came from the K.L Dugad group, contributing one lakh Nepali Rupees, and Li-Ning which has sponsored Parki’s sports kit.
President Shrestha also encouraged more corporate entities to participate in sports initiatives and emphasized their vital role in nurturing and promoting athletes in Nepal.
Gopi’s participation in the London Marathon was secured by winning the title at the ninth Dhara Nepalgunj Marathon. Nepal Run UK will manage his stay in London, and Gopi expressed his determination to go for his personal best.
