Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Nepal National Men’s Football Team, currently on the England tour, have lost to England ‘C’ in Aldershot. Nepal lost 2-0 to the English side at the EBB Stadium in Aldershot.
Nepal conceded two goals in the first quarter of an hour and failed to make amends later in the match. Nickel Kabamba’s header in the eighth minute and Callum Stead’s strike in the 13th minute after failing to clear a corner was enough for the home side to take away a win.
Nepal, showing an improved performance in the second half, created a few clear chances but failed to convert. The closest Nepal came to scoring was off a Gillespye Jung Karki header that rattled the crossbar. He, then, failed to convert a cross from inside the six-yard box. Earlier, Sanjeeb Bista hit a one-on-one opportunity straight into the goalkeeper.
The England ‘C’ side was assembled with the best players from the National League, the fifth tier in the English Football Pyramid.
The fixture was part of a visit from the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) to help raise the profile of football to the Nepalese community in England and increase participation from the wider south Asian communities.
Nepal had previously played a goalless draw against the British Army team at the Military Stadium in Aldershot.
