Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Clubs from India and Bhutan are set to participate in the upcoming second edition of the KP Oli Cup football tournament. Scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from February 23 to March 2, the KP Oli Cup is organized by the National Youth Association of Nepal.

President Kshitij Thewe has revealed that teams from Nepal’s A Division League along with clubs from India and Bhutan will compete in this tournament. The knockout-style tournament leading up to the semi-finals will be hosted at Chyasal Stadium, with the final set to be held at the Dasharath Stadium.

The winning team will walk away with a cash prize of 11 lakh rupees, while the runners-up will receive five lakh rupees. Additionally, individual honors include one lakh rupees for the best player of the tournament, and fifty thousand each for the best goalkeeper, top scorer, and emerging player.

Chairman Thewe emphasized that the tournament aims to positively influence the youth through the medium of sports and entertainment.

Despite the government’s limited focus on the sports sector, the National Youth Association is taking the initiative to organize this tournament. Last year, Machhindra Club secured the title in the inaugural edition of the KP Oli Cup.
