Golf fraternity supports Sukra to play PGTI

The golf promoters of Nepal have provided financial support to Nepal’s number one professional golfer Shukra Bahadur Rai who is participating in Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).

Rai was handed over the sum of 8 lakhs rupees collected on behalf of 13 individuals and organizations amidst a program on Monday. Golf connoisseurs financially supported Rai to play upcoming PGTI and to train at Tarun Sardesai Golf (TSG) Academy in Bangalore for a month. Supporters said that they hope Rai will now play without any pressure and participate in PGTI with the aim of clinching the title.

Rai thanked everyone who encouraged him. “This step will help me a lot in PGTI. I will give cent percent from my side. I want to thank everyone who helped me from the bottom of my heart,” he said.

Last year, Rai got success in PGTI selection and won the full card. He has made the cut in 3 of the 6 tournaments that he played so far. He managed to secure 38th position in Gurugram Challenge.

Rai will train in TSG for a month from 20th July to 14th August. After which, he will participate in PGTI competitions. He will train at the academy in the meantime.

Rai will compete in 16 tournaments of PGTI starting from August 17 to December 18, 2022. The prize money of these competitions ranges from 4 million Indian rupees to 30 million Indian rupees.
