Defeat Against UAE Puts Nepal Goalless In Fifth Successive World Cup Qualifier

By a Staff Reporter

Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Nepal have failed to find the net in fifth successive FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers second-round fixture. A 4-0 defeat against the UAE in Damman, Saudi Arabia means it is now five matches without a goal for Nepal in Group H.

Nepal, still goalless, have conceded 18 goals with four goals added to the tally today.

Nepal did well fending off early scares from the UAE but conceded twice inside two minutes. A cross from Abdullah Alhammadi found Hareeb Almusarrak in the far post who dealt with the cross with a header straight at Nepal skipper Kiran but could not save it.

Almusarrak doubled the lead two minutes later with a composed finish after controlling a delightful lofted pass from Ali Saleh.

Nepal failed to convert three glorious opportunities after 36th minute; Gillespye Jung Karki skyping one while Sanjeeb Bista and Bishal Basnet striking the crossbar.

Ali Saleh punished Nepal again in the 53rd minute with a stellar finish from the edge of the box. Hasen Mohammad caught Kiran off the line from near the halfway line to score the fourth.

Nepal will take on Yemen at the same venue in Saudi Arabia in the final group fixture.
