Shukra Rai wins Surya Nepal Eastern Open

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Dharan’s local professional golfer Shukra Bahadur Rai has won title of the Surya Nepal Eastern Open. Along with the title, Rai also bagged a purse of Rs 135,000. Rai scored 1 over 61 on the third day to take a five-stroke lead in the tournament that kicked off on Monday. He scored an overall total of 1 under 209 to finish ahead of amateur Subash Tamang. On the final day of the tournament, Rai played even-par 36 in the front nine and 1 over 35 in the back nine. The Surya Nepal Eastern Open was the second event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2020-21. Jayaram Shrestha wins Surya Nepal Kathmandu Open

By a Staff Reporter KATHMANDU - Jayaram Shrestha clinched the title of the Surya Nepal Kathmandu Open at the Royal Nepal Golf Club on Thursday.  Shrestha carded four-under 64 on the final day of the tournament to score a total of nine-under 263 to claim his maiden career title. He registered a two-stroke victory over Nepal No 1 Bhuwan Nagarkoti. Along with the title, Shrestha received a purse of Rs 110,000.  Nagarkoti carded two-under 66 for the 72-hole total of 265 and earned Rs 74,000. Surya Nepal Golf Tour begins from Monday

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Surya Nepal Golf Tour is all set to kick off in Kathmandu from Monday, December 6. The Surya Nepal Kathmandu Open Golf Tournament is the first of several tournaments to be held under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour. Nepal Golf Association (NGA) unveiled the schedule of the tournament on Sunday amid a press conference in the capital. According to the association, the Surya Nepal Kathmandu Open Golf Tournament will be held at the Royal Nepal Golf Club in Kathmandu. The four-day tour will conclude on Thursday. Kathmandu : Tribhuwan Army Officers Golf Club won the title of club championship of Nepal Tourism Cup Golf Tournament on the count back system here at Gokarna Golf Club. Tribhuwan Army represented by South Asian Games double gold medalist Subash Tamang and MAj Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi came over two-shot overnight deficit over Gokarna Golf Club to win the tile on count back after being tied with team total of 12-over 300.
