Army sets final date with defending champions

Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) is all set to take on defending champions Nepal APF Club in the final of the 3rd Tiger Cup International Invitation Club Volleyball Championship.

TAC defeated New Diamond Sports Academy in a set of 3-1 at Pokhara Rangashala. New Diamond who made a dream start by beating TAC 23-25, lost three sets further. TAC picked up the momentum winning the second set by 25-13. They then secured victories in the third and fourth sets limiting New Diamond to 22, and 12.

Earlier, defending champions Nepal APF Club thrashed Gandaki Province in a straight set of 3-0 to march on to the final. APF restricted the hosts to 13, 17, and 21.

With the victory, APF becomes the lone team to feature in the finals of every edition of the Tiger Cup. APF lost the finals of the first edition suffering a 3-0 defeat against Nepal Police Club (NPC) and won the second edition beating TAC.

A total of 9 teams including 4 women’s and 5 men’s teams are competing in the third edition of Tiger Cup. Both the champion teams will purse NRs. 5 Lakhs each, while the runners-up will receive NRs. 2.5 Lakhs.

Similarly, the Best Player of each match will be rewarded with five thousand and a health checkup facility equivalent to three thousand rupees. The best player in both events will receive NRs. 25,000 and the best in each category will get NRs. 10,000.
